1 John 4:6

¹⁷the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

²⁷My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

¹²But we received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God. ¹³We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. ¹⁴Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

²⁶“When the Counselor^[+] has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.

⁴⁵But because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me. ⁴⁶Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? ⁴⁷He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”

⁴⁸Then the Jews answered him, “Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”

⁴⁹Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. ⁵⁰But I don’t seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

¹Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

⁴You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.

³⁷Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

³⁷If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.

⁹even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹Because of this, God sends them a powerful delusion, that they should believe a lie,
