1 Corinthians 7:11

¹“They say, ‘If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man’s, should he return to her again?’ Wouldn’t that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me,” says the LORD.

¹⁰But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband

²His concubine played the prostitute against him, and went away from him to her father’s house to Bethlehem Judah, and was there for four months. ³Her husband arose and went after her to speak kindly to her, to bring her again, having his servant with him and a couple of donkeys. She brought him into her father’s house; and when the father of the young lady saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

¹The LORD says, “Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, with which I have put her away? Or to which of my creditors have I sold you? Behold, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was put away for your transgressions.

¹⁹They shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver,^[+] and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has given a bad name to a virgin of Israel. She shall be his wife. He may not put her away all his days.

²Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
