1 Chronicles 19:19

¹⁹When all the kings who were servants to Hadadezer saw that they were defeated before Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Syrians were afraid to help the children of Ammon any more.

⁴They served Chedorlaomer for twelve years, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. ⁵In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him came and struck the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

³⁹For you have armed me with strength to the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

¹⁷The fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all nations.

⁹They said to him, “Your servants have come from a very far country because of the name of the LORD^[+] your God; for we have heard of his fame, all that he did in Egypt, ¹⁰and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth. ¹¹Our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, ‘Take supplies in your hand for the journey, and go to meet them. Tell them, “We are your servants. Now make a covenant with us.”’

⁴⁴As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me. The foreigners shall submit themselves to me.

³God has shown himself in her citadels as a refuge. ⁴For, behold, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together. ⁵They saw it, then they were amazed. They were dismayed. They hurried away. ⁶Trembling took hold of them there, pain, as of a woman in travail.

⁸For he says, “Aren’t all of my princes kings?

¹²When Ben Hadad heard this message as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, he said to his servants, “Prepare to attack!” So they prepared to attack the city.

¹Ben Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together; and there were thirty-two kings with him, with horses and chariots. He went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.
