1 Chronicles 15:25

¹²King David was told, “The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that belongs to him, because of God’s ark.” So David went and brought up God’s ark from the house of Obed-Edom into David’s city with joy.

¹³When those who bore the LORD’s ark had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf. ¹⁴David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was clothed in a linen ephod. ¹⁵So David and all the house of Israel brought up the LORD’s ark with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

¹⁶As the LORD’s ark came into David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out through the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. ¹⁷They brought in the LORD’s ark, and set it in its place in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD. ¹⁸When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of Armies. ¹⁹He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed, each to his own house.

²⁰Then David returned to bless his household. Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious the king of Israel was today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of his servants’ maids, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

²¹David said to Michal, “It was before the LORD, who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will celebrate before the LORD. ²²I will be yet more undignified than this, and will be worthless in my own sight. But the maids of whom you have spoken will honor me.”

²³Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

¹Shout for joy to the LORD, all you lands! ²Serve the LORD with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.

³For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;

²⁷Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies. ²⁸They came to Jerusalem with stringed instruments, harps, and trumpets to the LORD’s house.

⁴Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”

¹¹David was displeased, because the LORD had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day. ¹²David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How can I bring God’s ark home to me?” ¹³So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house. ¹⁴God’s ark remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months; and the LORD blessed Obed-Edom’s house and all that he had.

¹Oh come, let’s sing to the LORD. Let’s shout aloud to the rock of our salvation! ²Let’s come before his presence with thanksgiving. Let’s extol him with songs!

¹⁶The children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.

²But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

¹⁴Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
