1 Chronicles 11:7

⁷David lived in the stronghold; therefore they called it David’s city.

⁷And David^[+] dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

⁷So David took up residence in the fortress; that is why it was called the City of David.

⁷David decided to live in the fortress, which is why they named it after him the City of David.

⁶“Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”

⁵The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You will not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is David’s city.
